2017 was an incredible year for the Champions Educational Foundation. We began our journey to provide more camperships for our 2017 season. We had the distinct pleasure of serving new families and aiding existing camp families in their return to their summer home. We look forward to expanding our fundraising efforts in 2018.
2017 Accomplishments:
- $140,000 in camperships
- 75 campers ranging from Kindergarten through 11th grades
- 271 weeks of summer camp
- countless memories
We have heard from parents and their kids about their experience at Camp Champions this summer, and we are so proud of the positive changes as a result of the summer camp experience.
One example of a positive change came from the mother of a campership camper, “We love what Camp has done for (our son). He has found his safe place; his home away from home. It has built his confidence and bravery. He is willing to try new things and go new places. He has learned and embraced the need to take reasonable risks. He has also become more responsible as a result of camp–having to be responsible for himself and his things for three weeks not only helped him to learn that skill but also helped us to trust that he could be responsible. He has always been a kind and compassionate child, but we love that those values are reinforced at Camp.” How amazing is that?
